Vittoria Feola

We are delighted to welcome Vittoria to our Junior Church teaching team.

Vittoria is 32 and is married to Sébastien. She was educated in Italy and in England, taking both her master's and her PhD in 17th century British history at Cambridge University. She has lived in Rome, Cambridge, Oxford and Paris and has been in Brussels for 3 years.

Vittoria‘s research interests reflect her theological preoccupations: She works on the relationship between science and religion, trying to understand how Biblical criticism stemming from Humanist philology influenced the rise of science in 17th century England.

Vittoria teaches graduate seminars at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, also has experience of younger children and she and Sébastien are looking forward to having children of their own.

Vittoria was raised in a Roman household full of English books. Her grandfather was an Anglophile. She thinks she read Little Women along with the Iliad and Shakespeare along with Dante. In other words, she relates to the English-speaking world more easily than to other cultures.
